Jammu- Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Thursday paid obeisance at the revered Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in the Trikuta Hills of Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, officials said.
Kumar arrived at Katra, the base camp for the pilgrimage, before proceeding to the cave shrine to offer prayers, they said.
The actor’s visit drew considerable enthusiasm among devotees and local residents, many of whom gathered along the route and at the shrine premises, hoping to catch a glimpse of the film star.
Officials said Kumar paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine and spent some time offering prayers before returning.
His visit comes at a time when the shrine is witnessing a steady influx of pilgrims from across the country ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra and during the ongoing summer holiday season.
