Srinagar- The Regional Transport Office (RTO), Kashmir, on Tuesday advised people to avoid visiting its office unless absolutely necessary due to the prevailing heatwave and launched a dedicated WhatsApp helpline to facilitate transport-related services.
In a public advisory, the RTO said the initiative aims to ensure uninterrupted delivery of services while minimising public footfall at its offices during the spell of unusually high temperatures.
According to the advisory, citizens facing grievances or requiring assistance related to transport services can submit their complete details through WhatsApp on 9622002432.
The office said all grievances would be addressed within 48 hours.
โIf any additional information or documents are required, the applicant will be informed through a reply on WhatsApp itself,โ the advisory said.
The RTO urged the public to make use of the digital facility and avoid unnecessary visits to its offices until the prevailing heatwave conditions subside.
The advisory comes as Kashmir continues to witness unusually high temperatures, prompting several government departments to issue public health and safety advisories.
