Drowned Youth’s Body Recovered From Chenab in Jammu, Search On for Friend

Jammu- Authorities on Wednesday fished out the body of a 30-year-old man believed to have drowned in Chenab River here four days ago.

Efforts are on to find the body of his friend who too is feared drowned.

Gajay Singh and 35-year-old Rakesh Singh, both residents of Khour area of Akhnoor, drowned while bathing in the river near Hamirpur-Sidhar village on August 9.

While the authorities have recovered the body of Gajay Singh, Rakesh Singh is yet to be traced.

Gajay’s body was taken to Khour hospital for completion of legal formalities.

Earlier, authorities took into possession a motorcycle, two mobile phones, and clothes found at the riverbank.
