Srinagar- The Special Crime Wing (SCW), Kashmir, of the Crime Branch, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday conducted a search at a residential premises in Safakadal here in connection with a case involving alleged submission of forged documents for appointment in the J&K Police Department, officials said.
The search was carried out at the residence of Special Grade Constable Manzoor Ahmad Najar pursuant to a warrant issued by the Special Mobile Magistrate (PT&E), Srinagar, they said.
The case, registered as FIR No. 10/2026, pertains to allegations of forgery of documents relating to date of birth and educational qualifications in connection with an appointment in the J&K Police Department.
The FIR has been registered under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the Ranbir Penal Code, officials said.
The search was conducted as part of the ongoing investigation and in accordance with due legal procedure, the officials said.
Further details will be disclosed as the investigation progresses, they added.
The Crime Branch has also urged the public to remain vigilant against fraud and report such incidents to the SSP, SCW Kashmir.
