BENGALURU: HCLTech on Monday announced plans to invest up to Rs 3,500 crore to establish AI data centres, with the potential to scale to 50 MW of capacity, targeting rising demand from enterprises and govts for sovereign AI infrastructure.“AI has fundamentally changed the economics of computing. For us, the data centre is the foundation for delivering full-stack AI solutions-from GPUs and models to enterprise applications. This opens up a new growth vector for HCLTech,” CEO C Vijayakumar said.The announcement builds on HCLTech’s recent $150-million investment in Sarvam AI, India’s homegrown foundation model startup. Meanwhile, the company reported Q1 revenue of $3.6 billion, down 0.9% sequentially but up 3% y-o-y. In constant currency, revenue declined 0.5% q-o-q and grew 2.6% y-o-y.
