BSF ASI Found Dead With Bullet Injury in Baramulla, Probe Underway

Srinagar– A Border Security Force (BSF) Assistant Sub-Inspector was found dead with a bullet injury at his place of posting in Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday, officials said.

The deceased was identified as ASI Shiv Dutt, 56, a resident of Shoran in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, they said, as per news agency GNS.

Dutt was posted with the 175th Battalion of the BSF and was serving with its E Company in Boniyar, officials said.

He was found dead with a bullet wound and preliminary information suggests that he may have shot himself with his service rifle, they said.

A police team from Boniyar police station reached the spot and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death.

Further details are awaited, officials said.
