Pedestrian Killed in Motorcycle Accident in Samba

Srinagar- A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a motorcycle in the SIDCO Phase-I industrial area of Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.

An official said that the accident occurred when a motorcyclist travelling through SIDCO Phase-I struck a pedestrian, leaving both persons injured.

He said both the injured were immediately shifted to the District Hospital Samba for treatment. The pedestrian was later referred to AIIMS Vijaypur, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, reported news agency KNO.

The deceased was identified as Raju, son of Chanderpal, a resident of Nepal. The motorcycle rider also sustained injuries, while his identity was yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation.
