Srinagar- A woman was injured after being attacked by a bear in the Handoora area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.

An official said that the woman was attacked by the wild animal in Handoora, leaving her injured, reported news agency KNO.

He said that she was soon shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tral for treatment and was later identified as Hajra Begum, wife of Ghulam Ahmad Khan and a resident of Handoora.

Meanwhile, locals have urged the Wildlife Department to take immediate preventive measures amid increased bear movement in the area.
