Awareness Programme “Stay Fit, Stay Healthy” Held At Green Valley Higher Secondary School

An awareness programme on the theme “Stay Fit, Stay Healthy” was held at Green Valley Higher Secondary School, Illahi Bagh, Srinagar, on Saturday.

The programme focused on the importance of physical fitness, sports and healthy activities among students. The speakers shared their experiences and discussed the need for changes in the functioning of schools and the curriculum to create more opportunities for healthy and productive activities.

Students were also made aware of common health and fitness problems and were guided on ways to overcome them without affecting their studies. The speakers highlighted some weaknesses in the existing school system and suggested steps towards providing students with a more complete and balanced education.

The programme was attended by speakers from different fields, including administration, healthcare, sports, engineering and media. The speakers included Mr Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police; Dr Shariq Masoodi, Endocrinologist; Dr Naveed, Pulmonologist; Dr Ishfaq Ahmad, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist; Mr Azhar Hajini from Doordarshan; and Mr Farhan, Engineer.

The speakers also interacted with the students and answered their questions in a friendly and encouraging manner.

The programme stressed that regular physical activity, better health awareness and a balanced education can play an important role in the overall development of students.
