Srinagar is seeing better traffic movement these days even as the number of vehicles has increased due to the tourist season and rush towards the Tulip Garden. Many people say that traffic is more smooth now and long jams are less frequent compared to earlier.

The improvement is being credited to SSP Traffic Srinagar Bhat Ajaz and DySP Traffic Srinagar Mehboob-ul-Haq, who have been actively managing traffic across the city. Their regular presence on roads, better planning, and quick action at busy points have helped reduce congestion in many areas.

Traffic police are now deployed at important junctions, parking is being managed better, and diversions are used when needed. Special focus is also being given to routes leading to the Tulip Garden where traffic pressure remains high.Locals say the change is clearly visible.

A resident, Showkat Ali, said, “Earlier we used to get stuck for long hours, but now traffic moves better and we don’t feel the same stress while travelling. Even during busy hours, things are under control which was not the case before.”

A shopkeeper, Bashir Ahmad, said, “This season is different because despite so many tourists coming in, the roads are not completely blocked. Traffic is moving slowly but steadily, and that itself is a big relief for us who work here every day.”

A driver, Irfan Ahmad, said, “Traffic police are present at almost every important point and they are guiding people properly. Because of that, there is less confusion and movement becomes easier even when the roads are crowded.”

Another commuter, Nadeem Khan, said, “Rush hours have become easier compared to before. We still see traffic, but it does not turn into long jams and we are able to reach our destinations on time most of the days.”

Overall, Srinagar is slowly seeing improvement in traffic, and people are appreciating the efforts of SSP Traffic Srinagar Bhat Ajaz and DySP Traffic Srinagar Mehboob-ul-Haq for making daily travel easier.
