Five Injured in Alto–Scorpio Collision in Pulwama

Srinagar- Five persons were injured in a late-night road accident in Bandzoo area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama after a collision between an Alto car and a Scorpio vehicle, and were shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment.

The accident occurred during the intervening night, following which the injured were initially taken to District Hospital Pulwama and later referred to Srinagar for specialized care.

Hospital sources said five injured patients were received at SMHS Hospital. The condition of all the injured was stated to be stable at the time of admission.

The injured have been identified as Younis Ahmad Dar, son of Gh Nabi Dar, resident of Shadaab Shopian; Ilyas Majeed, son of Abdul Majeed, resident of the same area; and a family comprising Abdul Qadeer and his children, Numaan Qadeer, Shabnam Jan, and Hafsa Jan, all residents of the same area.

The cause of the collision has reportedly been attributed to use of high-beam lights and over speeding.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident. [KNT]
