Srinagar, April 18: A significant step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the Valley was marked today as the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Imam Hussain A.S Hospital in Bemina was formally inaugurated during a grand function in Srinagar.

The ICU was inaugurated by noted Islamic scholar, Peerzada Dr. Sameer Shafi Sidiqi, in the presence of medical professionals, community members, and well-wishers. The event witnessed participation from a diverse gathering, reflecting strong public engagement with the initiative.

The newly established ICU has been equipped with ventilators generously donated by well-wishers of the hospital, highlighting the growing role of community-driven support in enhancing healthcare facilities in Kashmir.

On the occasion, the Imam Hussain A.S Foundation, Kashmirโ€” the apex body overseeing the hospitalโ€” also announced the establishment of the โ€œShaheed Imam Khamnaie (R.A) Super Speciality Cardiology Centreโ€ at the Bemina facility. The proposed centre is expected to provide advanced cardiac care services and address the increasing burden of heart-related ailments in the region.

Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of collective efforts in improving medical infrastructure and ensuring access to quality healthcare for all sections of society. The initiative was widely appreciated as a model of philanthropic contribution and community participation in the healthcare sector.

The function concluded with a note of optimism, as attendees expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to bridge critical gaps in the regionโ€™s healthcare system.
